It has been a month or two since I last updated our galleries. Take a look, added some really amazing projects we were a part of. May 1st - time sure is flying, enjoy your week everyone!
With Spring in full effect, it is really important you plan ahead with your new build/reno. We are extremely busy right now so it is crucial that you give yourself enough time for us to do our thing!
Current lead times are as follows:
Carpet Grade Stairs - 2-3 weeks
Standard stain grade - 4-5 weeks
Open Rise/Circulars - 5-6 weeks
Steel Stairs - 6+ weeks
We will do our best to meet your deadline however it has to be realistic! Stairs SHOULD be installed before any finished floor (hardwood/ceramic/laminate). If you have any questions please don't hesitate to give us a call or send us an email!

It has been a while since I last updated our galleries. I added some really cool projects to all 3 of our galleries. Take a gander and see what we have been up to!
Here is a time lapse video of a level curve railing glue-up. We ripped the white oak into thin strips then glued all the strips together. After the strips are coated in glue it is lifted up onto the blocks. The blocks are screwed to the template/radius of the curve we require. Once the rail is clamped we will leave it for 24hrs to dry.
We wanted to wish you all a safe and happy Victoria Day long weekend! We will be closing early today so our guys can get a head start on the weekend. The Haus will be closed on Monday, reopening on Tuesday (regular hours).

We have some exciting news to share with you................we are expecting!
If you are familiar with the term "too many cooks in the kitchen" then you will understand why we need more space. The Stairhaus production facility is a bee hive of activity every day and we have outgrown our current facility. We will now have 8500sqft to work with which will significantly increase our efficiencies and productivity. We have another couple tricks up our sleeve to share with you however we will save that news for another day! Have a great Friday and enjoy your weekend!

In the last 6 months, 50% of the railings we have installed have had glass incorporated into them. There are many ways to install glass - channels, clips & stand-offs. Planning is the most important part of any glass railing. Glass does not bend and can't be cut on-site so everything has to line-up perfectly.
Here at Stairhaus, we plan railing systems first, then your stairs. Because we offer supply and install of railings, we always look at a job from a railing installers perspective. If stairs are not properly laid out, you can end up with a messy railing system or completely eliminate the possibility of a glass system.

Time flies when you're having fun! Today marks 1yr since both Dylan and I opened the doors here at Stairhaus. We are very fortunate to have amazing staff (10 in total) and the best customers in the game. We would not have made it this far without the help & support from our family and friends (our wives especially). We are very lucky to be overwhelmed with work and are looking forward to what 2016 brings us. We are investing in new equipment all the time and recently bought a straight truck to make our delivery & installs easier. Spring is quickly approaching! We had a busier than normal winter, please plan as far ahead as possible when considering new stairs/railings & barn board. We are running 3-4 weeks for standard stair delivery currently!

We have been working hard behind the scenes preparing for our grand opening in May (date TBA). Our showroom is starting to take shape and we can't express how excited we are to open this to the public. You will notice that our website address bar now has the "showroom" tab. First blog entry of the year! Hope everyone had a great/safe Christmas holiday and New Year! We are very busy right now however we have made it our mission to get our showroom ready for our grand opening which we hope to have in May. Here are a couple pics of the stair/post/railing display which will be finished up in the coming weeks.
Our goal is to build the BEST stair/railing showroom in the game. I have seen many of our competitors and I can honestly tell you our showroom will be next level - a place you will want to check out.

We sent out 5 custom barn doors last week, so I thought it would be fitting to whip up a blog post on these beauties. The barn door style has been around for hundreds of years however recently the demand for tracks has skyrocketed due to the popularity of having functional barn doors inside of your home. Whether we make you a rustic door out of reclaimed materials or you hang a brand new door, we sell the tracks and can offer a variety of door styles you can choose from (we also have barn doors in our showroom for you to see).

ALL of the material we buy here at #stairhaus is kiln dried. The removal of moisture is controlled and we end up with a much more stable material. Even our barn board is kiln dried as most of our competitors in that market sell it slightly air dried or green. It is important to understand this process so you can appreciate all the steps it takes to get a beautiful piece of wood.

Most people walk up and down their carpet grade circular in their home every day and not think much about it. Did you know it takes nearly 3-4x longer to build a circular over a standard straight set of stairs? We love building circulars however they seem to be less and less popular as the typical 2 storey homes are being replaced with larger bungalows.
A circular stair takes up more room however definitely makes a statement when you first walk into a house. Here at Stairhaus, we are fully capable of designing and building virtually any circular you throw at us. Whether its curved nosing & railing or the traditional "Scarlett O'Hara" sweeping double circulars, let us make this happen for you!
