Business with Breakfast - Construction Liens

Thanks to the Barrie Construction Association (BCA) and Dooley Lucenti Barristers & Solicitors for providing a very informative seminar with respect to "Business with Breakfast - Construction Liens".
It is important that everyone who is self employed understands their rights with respect to liens and how the legal system works. I understood the concept prior to the seminar, however both Scott Fairley and Eric Gionet made it very simple to understand.

Thanks!

Really Cool Stairs #14 - Helical Stairs

Helical stairs have to be one of our favorites.  They are the definition of ultra-modern and look amazing.  Although very expensive, these stairs will be the focal point of any home.

What is the difference between a circular vs helical stair?

"As the word “helix” implies, helical staircases are designed in a helical shape. Helical staircases differ from spiral staircases as they do not have a newel, and handrails are present on both sides. They are also not limited to a circular staircase, and may be built in an elliptical or oval shape. Without a newel for support, better materials and/or construction is required for helical stairs compared to spiral stairs.

Because of its shape, it is possible to build two helical staircases while occupying the same vertical space, allowing two persons access to a staircase at the same time. Fire escapes are a good example displaying the use of a double helix stair."  * The Staircase Experts, UK

Barn Door Track Hardware

Our initial barn door post was viewed 8000+ times so I figured I would focus in quickly and show you how many options are out there for the tracks themselves.  The barn door track has been around 100+ years and has recently exploded in popularity.  There are many different styles, colours and sizes now readily available, many offered strictly online only.

Take a look at a few cool track styles I found online.  Simply searching "barn door track hardware" will yield a few hundred different examples of tracks that are out there and available for purchase.

Really Cool Stairs #12 - Stairs made out of Reclaimed Materials

Short and sweet!  Here are a few pics of some cool stairs I found on the web that are made from reclaimed materials.  We have quite a few requests now for stairs/railings to be made out of parts of a barn, as this is one of the reasons why we got into the reclaimed wood industry.

Take a look!
